Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how we work with brands sourcing from China.
Getting Started
We start with a structured discovery process to understand your product, goals, and constraints. From there, we identify suitable manufacturers, manage sampling, oversee production, and handle quality control and logistics. You get a dedicated point of contact and full visibility throughout.
Yes. We specifically work with ambitious brands that are often earlier in their journey — including those doing a few thousand dollars a month in revenue. We’re set up to support brands that need to move carefully and efficiently rather than only high-volume clients.
A standard audit usually checks basic compliance and capabilities on paper. Our Factory Reality Check goes deeper — we evaluate how well a factory can actually execute your specific product, including process control, communication quality, and long-term reliability. It’s designed to reduce surprises later in production.
We’re selective about the projects we take on. If we don’t believe we can deliver strong results for your brand, we’ll tell you early. Most of our work is structured in clear phases so you can evaluate progress before committing further.
Quality & Production
We don’t rely on a single inspection at the end. We implement process controls, clear quality standards, and ongoing oversight with the factory. This includes defined checkpoints during production and structured feedback loops so issues are caught and corrected early, not just discovered at the warehouse.
We take responsibility for managing the outcome. Depending on the situation, this can include working with the factory on rework, negotiating credits, or arranging replacement production. You won’t be left dealing with the factory directly on quality disputes.
Order Quantities & Testing
It depends on the product, but we work with factories that accept quantities well below the typical 1,000+ piece MOQ. We do this by matching you with the right factories and structuring production in a way that makes smaller runs viable without excessive cost penalties.
Yes. A validation run of a few hundred units is a sound way to test the market, refine the product, and prove the model before committing to larger volumes. We structure engagements to support exactly this kind of careful, staged approach.
Protecting Your Brand & IP
We use a combination of legal agreements (including strong NNN contracts), careful factory selection, and operational controls. We also structure the relationship so the factory has clear incentives to protect your interests rather than undermine them. While no system is 100% risk-free, we significantly reduce exposure compared to working directly or through less structured channels.
We select factories carefully and work with partners who value long-term relationships over short-term gains. We also build in contractual protections and maintain visibility into production. Factories that work with us understand that losing our trust means losing access to the kind of clients we bring.
Communication & Working with Factories
Very little. We handle the majority of communication and coordination. You’ll get regular updates and clear summaries rather than being copied on every email chain. When your input is needed, we make it easy and efficient.
No. While some brands choose to visit factories (and we can facilitate this), it’s not required. We manage the relationship and oversight remotely with strong on-the-ground processes.
Costs & Logistics
We provide clear, itemized costing that includes product price, tooling (if any), quality control, packaging, freight, duties, and our service fee. There are no hidden kickbacks or surprise charges from the factory side. You’ll know your landed cost before production begins.
Logistics isn’t our primary service — we’re not a freight forwarder or 3PL — but we coordinate it end to end. We work with trusted carriers and can connect you with the right partners for freight, customs, and FBA/3PL delivery. We stay involved throughout so nothing falls through the cracks.
How We Work
We’re based in China, in the heart of the country’s manufacturing belt. That gives us direct, on-the-ground access to factories — site visits, face-to-face negotiation, and physical quality oversight — which is where most of the real work happens.
We keep our client load intentionally limited so each brand gets real attention. We’re built for depth, not volume — a few focused engagements rather than a roster of accounts handed off to junior staff.
We charge a transparent service fee. We do not take commissions or kickbacks from factories. Our incentives are aligned with delivering the best outcome for your brand.
Yes. Our engagements are designed to transition naturally from initial setup and sampling into ongoing production management — batch oversight, quality checks, and reorder coordination — so you’re not left starting over after launch.
